A 15th century allegorical engraving of the transience of life, reminding us that all earthly ambitions are futile. Fun fact: Moses, holding the Tablets of the Law, is sometimes depicted with horns, because when he descended from Mt. Sinai, his head "shone," but the Hebrew word for "shone" can also mean "horned."
